Unfortunately things are not going as planned.. they got her into surgery and opened her up and determined that she has a large fibroid tumor that is preventing access to her back. So she’s gone through a very painful procedure for nothing. Still waiting to see what the plan is for tomorrow. Dr days he might still do the back surgery but he is unsure he can...

the hospital for my mom, who is having a pretty extensive back surgery. It will actually take two days, today and tomorrow. Thoughts and prayers are appreciated. Got to get her back to yoga, yo.

Heck of a day for a PR....so I took advantage of...
I ran the Duplin County Pet Friends 5k this morning and set a new PR. Previous PR back in June was 35:52. Today’s time was………wait for it…….wait for it……32:26 according to my Garmin. The official time keeper called me out at 32:15. Either way I knocked 3 minutes and some change off my 5k time. The weather was pure southeastern NC bliss.

Good news is he thinks that after orthotics (next step), I will be good to go. Lets hope.

On another note, I had all intentions of running yesterday afternoon. After a quick stretch I started out my run, but my legs were SORE. Mother nature stepped in and it started sprinkling rain...

the cauliflower pizza was a total win! So, so good! Ally even loved it and she knew there was cauliflower in it. Got the recipe off www.blog.yourlighterside.com aka, The Lighter side of Low Carb. Super good and something we’ll make again. We topped one with low sodium pepperoni, mushrooms, and olives, and the other had leftover bbq chicken, pepperoni, and mushrooms. Good stuff.

with the fam. Went Halloween costume shopping with the girls. Elli is going to be Jasmine and Ally is going to be a “punk rocker” I gave up trying to make them match years ago. Smoked it this evening...well not really
Used an app on my phone rather than my garmin. When I got done it said I had run 7.18 miles in 27 minutes. Woohoo!
Only problem was it’s a route I have run many times and was only 2.5 miles.
I guess the only thing that matters is I got better today, but seeing that 6 minute mile average did give me something to shoot for in the future. ;)

Shot up...date
Well, the foot is a tad better today. I can walk somewhat on it, although I have sort of a Gangsta limp going on. Can’t tell if the shot is going to help the heel pain or not yet. Will report back on that as soon as I know. If not I guess my next step is amputation…or….wheelchair?
To be sure, I will rock a wheelchair like this lil guy. Ha! Hopefully, it won’t come to...
Hurricanes....
Headed to Raleigh here in a bit to see a Hurricanes game. Only my second hockey game ever. My buddy got us sweet suite tickets.

went to the podiatrist today. Thought I’d get some good orthotics and would be on my way. Um, notsomuch. He took xrays and said I have a heel spur on my right foot and something going on with the metatarsal. I didnt get exactly what he meant about that because shortly after all I heard was “cortisone shot”. I kinda zoned out after that. I guess it was good I didnt have more...

So after Kid-a-palooza we hit a new (to us) pizza joint for a couple of slices of pepperoni and mushroom pizza. Right up there with some of the best I’ve ever eaten. Before you say it, I realize that’s probably not the lightest thing I could have eaten after the feast I had for breakfast. To top it off, for dinner, we added homemade crab soup. Now we’re finishing the day off...
